Student Grants
PhD students attending the Doctoral Forum can apply for grants covering part of the conference, travel, and/or accommodation expenses. ISSOME 2011 will reimburse a part of the expenses after the conference (receipts will be required).
Grant applicants are requested to submit:
- one-page explanation for a) why the applicant wants/needs to attend the ISSOME Doctoral Forum, and b) why the applicant demands funding support, and c) an estimation of the travel and accommodation expenses
- proof of PhD student status (e.g. copy of valid student ID, matriculation confirmation, written confirmation by PhD supervisor)
- optional recommendation letters (e.g. from PhD supervisors or professors from the home university)
Grant applications are accepted in the following formats: .pdf, .rtf, .doc, .docx. The applications should be sent to mari...@abo.fi no later than June 3, 2011. Notification of granted support will be sent out on June 10, 2011.
Notifications sent
The notifications of acceptance or rejection have been sent to all authors who submitted proposals for the conference. The topics of the accepted papers cover a broad variety of themes relating to social media from information literacy to information practices and knowledge organisation.
Due to many requests we are extending the abstract submission deadline for ISSOME2011 conference until the 31st March 2011.
