Practical information

The conference will be held at the newly renovated ASA-building (Fänriksgatan 3), which is on walking distance from Turku city centre. Turku (Åbo in Swedish) is located on the Southwest coast of Finland. It is a beautiful city that offers both historical and cultural experiences. This year is extra special because Turku is the European Capital of Culture.

Travel

By plane
Turku Airport is located about 8 km North of Turku city centre. The main flight connections are Finnair, SAS, Blue1 and AirBaltic. You can travel from the airport to Turku city centre by public transportation (bus number 1 departs from the airport every 20 minutes) or by taxi.

There is also the possibility of travelling by plane to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and continue by bus. There are long distance bus connections leaving approximately every hour from the airport to Turku. You can search for timetables here.

By ferry
The Port of Turku is located about 3 km from Turku city centre. There are ferries travelling between Stockholm and Turku several times a day. Main ferry connections are run by Tallink Silja Line and Viking Line. You can travel from the harbor to Turku city centre by public transportation (bus) or by taxi.

By rail
VR is the national train company and departs from local railway stations all throughout Finland. There are two railway stations in Turku: The Main railway station (rautatieasema) which is close to the city centre and the Kupittaa railway station which is about 2 km from the city centre.

By bus
The national long distance bus service Matkahuolto departs from local bus stations all throughout Finland. The Turku bus station (linja-autoasema) is located close to the city centre.

By car
Main roads to Turku are route E18 from Helsinki, route E63 from Tampere, and E8 from Pori.
